Most Churches Are Closer to Their Next Step Than They Think.
We started The Conifer Co. with one conviction: not every church is ready for an architect — but every church is ready for Conifer.
We work exclusively with churches to align their physical spaces and brand with the mission they're already living out. Most churches don't need a full renovation. They need momentum— a focused strategy that tells them exactly what to change, why it matters, and how to get there within their budget.
For churches ready to build, The Conifer Co. leads the designbuildchurch team — one team, three firms, every phase covered. We start together and stay together, from the first sketch to the final walk-through.
What We Believe
Churches get stuck. We help them move.
Most churches we talk to know something needs to change. They feel it every Sunday. But they get overwhelmed by the options, intimidated by the cost, or talked into solutions that are bigger than what they actually need — and then they do nothing. Conifer exists to break that cycle. Your next step is almost always smaller and more achievable than you think.
Every church deserves this conversation.
Most churches have never had a real strategic conversation about their space. Not because they don't care — but because the industry hasn't made it accessible. Conifer exists to change that. Every church deserves the same quality of thinking regardless of size or budget.
Strategy before spending.
We have watched churches spend money in the wrong order for years. A renovation before a plan. A new sign before a brand. Construction before anyone asked what the building actually needs to communicate. The first thing we do is slow down and figure out the right move — before a dollar is committed.
The best next step is usually not the biggest one.
Churches don't need to build their way to impact. They need to make the right decisions in the right order. Sometimes that's an inexpensive refresh that changes how Sunday morning feels. Sometimes it leads to a full campus build. Either way, we help you figure out which step is actually next.
MEET THE TEAM
The Conifer Co. was built by people who have been on both sides of this work — as ministry leaders and as industry professionals. That dual perspective shapes everything about how we serve churches.

Aaron Blair is the founder and CEO of The Conifer Co. He brings a rare combination of experience to this work — having served as a senior executive at a nationwide church design-build firm, and before that as an executive pastor overseeing the acquisition, design, and construction of a church campus. He has been on both sides of the table: as the ministry leader carrying the weight of facility decisions, and as the industry professional helping churches navigate them. Aaron holds a degree in Urban Planning and brings years of placemaking and community development work to his practice. He founded The Conifer Co. in early 2025 to give churches an accessible, strategy-first option that most firms don't offer.
Aaron lives in Surf City, NC with his wife Jessica and shares a faith grounded in the belief that the local church is the most powerful community-shaping force on earth. That belief is why Conifer exists.
